Did you know that if an infinite number of monkeys were given an infinite number of typewriters eventually they would invent the internet? Not many people realise that this is exactly how the internet was invented. Unfortunately they haven't finished yet. They're getting there; a search for 'internet' on Google throws up nearly 3 billion results. That's a lot of monkeys but infinity still seems a long way off - as so many customers of TalkTalk have told us.

So who is the best at providing access to the internet? Well we can't answer that. Because that depends on what you want. Aol for example is actively targeting families by throwing in a laptop with a decent specification as part of its wireless package. Waitrose, yes, the posh grocer, offers a free helpline. The best we can can do is suggest that this lunchtime you read the:
>> Updated guide to best broadband providers
(including more than 100 reader experiences)
And we can warn you of the customer services nightmare that is Talktalk.
>> Sorry no TalkTalk
>> Tony's not Talk-Talking
>> Is TalkTalk worse than British Gas
>> Talktalk broadband problems round-up
The problem with TalkTalk was that it offered a deal that seemed too good to be true. So many people signed up that the company couldn't cope and when things went wrong it was a disaster for the company and the customers. So has the service improved? We still receive complaints about the company but not so many. Add your comments to this blog.
If you want to talk to someone about broadband, you can do that too without paying for the call.
