Good news (for the both of us in the country who give a damn): my favourite band, The Toy Dolls, are playing my favourite venue (in Paris) on Saturday 5 December: La Cigale.
Bad news is that with the spending power of our pound abroad taking another sewer-bound turn, the chances of me attending are as likely as my team, AFC Wimbledon, winning the Champions League my lifetime.

Looking at their performances this year I would seriously think of crossing over to MK Dons. Still a hint of Wimbledon there and they've a good chance of gaining promotion this year.

A Toy Dolls tribute band? Now there's an idea. Bit niche maybe and there are few people out there who can play the guitar that fast. I once met the guitarist in Britain's 13th most popular Abba tribute band and that did it for me. I'm not a fan of tribute bands.
As for MK Dons, I keep a friendly eye on them because I spent a considerable amount of emotional luggage on their forefathers and I think the decision to relocate looks like it will prove to be a sound one but I'm stuck in the mud when it comes to local teams for local people.
